I really love these two Eurosport striped sweatshirt blouses size xxxl
Amazing food, amazing staff!
Despite covid only 30 people inside, but top food
My fave place ❤️
Haven't been inside, but this mural is 👍🏼
The food is good and the service friendly, but it's not right price-quality wise, way too expensive for what it is. The restaurant seems to be short on waiters so it takes ages to place an order; sadly the buzz girls are not allowed to take orders... Anyway they need to step it up like Nazka, Roka and Sushisamba, or slash the prices to make it worth it. Also the name is ironic as it implies a simple traditional Japanese eatery, instead it's more expensive than most of the best Japanese restaurants in Amsterdam...
Nice ambience and great food!
Excellent!
Very tasty, but certainly expect a bill of at least 200 per person. Nice for once, but I think there are a lot of nice, friendlier priced alternatives around the area!
Trendy and tasty food but the price is too high in terms of price quality.
A true hotspot of Amsterdam. Heard some great stories about this restaurant and they lived up to every expectation! The waiter helped us choose the best dishes in combination with lovely wines. This is a true dinner experience if you are looking for something special. Best sushi I've had in a long time, we will come back for sure!
Went to IZAKAYA two weeks ago for my girlfriend's birthday. Spent over € 200, for that money I should have gone to a Michelin restaurant like Yamazato. But even a restaurant with normal prices, such as Konnichiwa in Utrecht, has even better food / better service than IZAKAYA. First of all, I requested a special birthday arrangement for my girlfriend. Before my arrival they asked twice for her name and age, when we came there they knew nothing about it and they did nothing with it. Second, the service is pushy and not professional. The waiter tried to sell us cocktails and alcohol, while we indicated that we wanted to leave it with wine. When I only ordered a coffee with dessert, he told me to order Espresso Martini and that it doesn't matter if you drive drunk. Very weird. In conclusion, the food is just not worth the money. For example, you pay € 25 for a few wafer-thin slices of sashimi. In addition, we paid € 19 for Seabass Tempura (five pieces of fried fish that don't taste good), which just wasn't tasty. When we indicated this to the waiter, he said that this was also not a good dish. Then why are you putting it on the map? In conclusion, the food / service is not worth the money. If we had known this in advance, we would never have come here.
Super ... Blissful ... great beautiful and tasty food. Perfect service
If you really want something special, then you have to go to Izakaya! A true culinary experience of Japanese cuisine. Beautiful building, in the middle of Amsterdam. Staff are extremely friendly and professional. There is something for everyone! Very tasty food. We have been here for the first time, but certainly not the last. We went for Set Menu 2 and this is definitely recommended. A look at the wine menu is also worthwhile! Thank Izakaya for this fantastic culinary experience! Hope to see you soon and good luck !!
Wonderful experience, beautiful atmosphere and delicious food! Nice restaurant located in Oud-Zuid in the Pijp. The food was absolutely phenomenal and our waitress Charissa was superb too. We had a delicious meal and drank delicious wines. Highly recommended!
Cocktails could be better and less expensive, or orgasmically delicious for this price. The design of the place could be much better designed. The inox or aluminium bar is not very cosy.
Amazing food and great people!
Great food, beautiful people (literally and figuratively), great pace. Relaxed atmosphere!
Top tent, very good and professional quality food and great service from the gentlemen and ladies I am very pleased with it, I would come back here again soon, do not talk about the price, well worth it !!
Trendy restaurant. Music a little too loud ... we can't hear each other speak. Menu at 85 euros excellent and varied. Fast and efficient service. To have.
The food, drinks and service are all excellent. Definitely a little pricey but very much worth it once you experience it! Great place for a special night out.
Delicious lunch, excellent ambiance, friendly and helpful staff. In particular, sommelier EBRU who recommended the right wines with the dishes. All praise!
Today we went to izakaya for dinner and we were served by a young man named michael, the service was 10/10, he really should get a salary raise, he helped us with making a choice for the food, he explained every detail and the food he recommended was more than delicious, we loved our dinner thanks to michael! 🤍
I went to Izakaya on their first day of opening after covid19. They have set menus now (awful strategy if you are ask me and so visibly greedy) but somehow they allowed us to order from the ”bar bites”. They charged us 25 euro for the 4 gyozas, no price in the menu, so they could have come up with any price whatsoever. I have been many, many times here and actually enjoyed it (pre-covid) but perhaps the 3 months’ hiatus of not eating out, gave me a huge perspective on things and I realized that this restaurant has always been overtly overpriced and pretty average all in all. So thanks for the 100 euro bill, which left me hungry, but no thanks, I’d rather spend it somewhere else next time.
Picked up the sushi box for 49 euros. If you are a small eater and normally always order a starter as a main- sure! For me it did feel like just a starter. I expected a bit more for 49 euros. Overpriced.
Izakaya is an asian fusion restaurant mainly japanese but with some other inspiration. The location isn’t big but well set up. The food selection is well balanced and dishes are delicious. The staff is fine, nothing over the top. Music can be a bit too loud which distract any type of private discussion. Prices are a bit high to my opinion. Brunch are also possible ans was pretty good.
Honestly, I expected a lot better than this. My gf and I booked in Saturday night for our anniversary dinner in Amsterdam South. Cocktail served was watery, too sweet and not at all like a picante. Sent back... The first sashimi was swimming in soy and consisted very thin strips of 3 fish - very poor value for money. Next, the duck roll - was poorly presented, too sweet and we were refused soy on asking - waiter commenting it had some in already! Had to ask again... Robata was good, but got 34Eur it should have been. Best thing on the menu we ate was roasted cabbage. Says a lot... So, should have listened to our hotel Barman when he commented this was over priced. Concierge shoved out coats to us on the way our straight armed. We knew we weren’t wanted... All in, disappointing.
Excellent food great mix of asia meets europe
Solid Asian food restaurant in Amsterdam. Tasteful fish and good courses. Wine list is quite limited.
Japanese / Peruvian flavors with loud music and open bar style eating. We walked into this restaurant and sat at the main bar without reservation. The rest of the seating appears to be bar style sharing a long wood table cut direct from a giant tree. Very friendly staff and nice portions. Fresh and clean as well as colorful presentations. Well-balanced offering, although we missed getting hamachi kama.
Hungry
We were here for the first time yesterday. We had really good expectations. Started with 2 delicious cocktails. Until the food arrived .... really, without exaggeration, it is really similar to take out / all you can eat sushi. (Although I have to admit that in my younger years I ate even better at Sumo). The quality was so poor, with 1 sushi roll I really had trouble swallowing, also the sashimi was not to do. I was really surprised how you can serve such poor quality in such a place. Waiting for our taxi quickly ordered a cocktail and fled. We will never come back. People who like this have no sense nor ever eaten tasty quality sushi.
Excellent Japanese
So overrated.
Amazing food! Great service and an incredible atmosphere! I will definitely recommend going.
The Wagyu/Foie Gras Gyozas are to die for. Excellent service and a lively, atmosphere with good music.
Beautiful setting and disappointing food.
Very good place
Very expensive but very nice!
Amazing place, starts from a host who was a lovely girl and solved what we did not invite and arranged us. It was very tasty, although expensive but worth it. highly recommend.
Great place as usual. Never disappointed
Great service, top food
Elegant yet expensive, crowded and distinguished. Would recommend it if you are not looking for a candlelight dinner.
The food was okay. But nothin worth the money. Service was a bit slow. Anywhere in Ibiza where you pay the same prices bit beter with better service. And quality We don’t care about money, but if it’s just not worth it we would tell. Izakaya is just not it. Btw I have a big stomach ache after izakaya
Decend cocktail, but very rude hostess. I do expect little bit more service. If i ask a simple question for the bill, i just got short answer ask my other colleague.
Hi end food for the foodies! Delicious in every aspect, service, taste and presentation! Highly recommended!!
The best place in Amsterdam
Was amanzing place for have a dinner, me and my girdfriend booking in izakaya in our last night in Amterdam, and we realy apreciate the service of the crew and the floor manager was realy near off us, totality recomendate. Thansk for the experience!
Great food, but in terms of value for money a bit lacking. Also, the wine list is really nothing special but 8-10 euros a glass. Service is correct and friendly, they work with a shift system.
Wonderful service and delicious food! Tapas style so portions vary. The waiters took time to make sure we were seated comfortably, explained the menu to us and made recommendations. Would definitely love to come back!
